1. The products
RHLS provides software tools (Shikibu, Lingua Mundi, Subtitle Toolkit, KitchenOS) as free and paid ("Pro"/"Premium") products. Free features work without an account; paid features require an account and a one-time or subscription purchase.
2. License to use
The application code is open source under the MIT License (except the commercial billing layer, which is proprietary). Your purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive license to use the paid features for your own use.
3. Payments and subscriptions
Payments are processed by Stripe. One-time purchases are billed once; subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. You can cancel a subscription at any time — access continues until the end of the paid period.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the services to store or process unlawful content.
- Attempt to bypass payment, authentication, or rate limits.
- Resell API access or paid features without authorization.
- Misrepresent the products or your use of them.
5. Third-party data
The Lingua Mundi / Shikibu dictionary data includes material from JMdict/EDICT, KANJIDIC2, Princeton WordNet, J-UniMorph, EJDict, and Universal Dependencies under their respective licenses (see the Shikibu ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS).
6. No warranty
The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, RHLS is not liable for damages arising from use of the products.
7. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
